Blog #32 Inhouse development of turnkey items

Let's recapture where we are in this blog. When tailoring Cpdm, you simplify and tailor it to support the nature of the development target product. In this case, my plan was to electrify an old caravan, with adding some modern electronics. I called the project "electronic expansion". Since it was not an overwhelmingly big project, I tailored Cpdm to its minimal size, that is the level 0 for the environment and the level 1 of the electronic expansion itself, see blog #17 Simplifying Cpdm for smaller project and blog #18 Tailoring the simplified Cpdm.

In the blogs so far, I have finalized the electronic expansion itself on the bottom level 1, and I have also finalized the interface of the electronic expansion on the environment level 0. Consequently the electronic expansion is now described in detail, thus finalized and completed, on both levels, and it is time to acquire all elements and integrate them into a system, in order to finally be tested.

Sometimes before integration can start, it shows that some elements are not available on the market in the exact way you want them, and you have to produce them yourself, either by ask a subcontractor for help, or by buying in semi-products and change them yourself. In this case, it was impossible to find brackets for the solar panels with mounting holes for screws, a nd also impossible to find glands prepared for connecting loudspeakers, see the picture above. As usual, green text is from previous activities, and black text is from this.

So no big problems, only some drilling and some screwing.

See you in next blog.
