Now one of the most rewarding and exciting step approaches, and that is to open (for design) the black-box, that has been targeted for requirements, and thereafter for trying to satisfy these requirements, with proposed alternative solutions. All chosen solutions are now being connected with each other, to form the white-box design architecture. To open the up the so far hidden black-box, use to appeal to practical engineers, who has for long been forced to apply much theoretical and abstract thinking. But a warning, don't attract to open a premature black-box earlier than now. There is a lot to say about architectures, and specially for this bottom level detailed one. As for the "Electronic expansion" I now develop for the caravan, a lot of electronics and cables are needed, see the design architecture. |
Despite the architecture is practical to its nature, it is important to apply some formalism. For example, all components must be denoted with identifications, unambiguously referred throughout the whole Cpdm process. Buy the Cpdm book, to get everything about architectures thoroughly explained. In Cpdm, outside the white-box, the closest level to the white-box is denoted by E., and next outward level with a.E., see the architecture above. Inside the white-box the uppermost level is denoted with A. and next level inwards is denoted A.a., A.a.a. and so forth. When elements resides on the same level, the denotation continues wit a, b, c and so forth. When it comes to interfaces, the denotation is E- and A- respectively. Many interfaces on same level are denote by numbers, such as E-1-, a.E-1- and A-1-, A.a-1- etc. One interface can penetrate many elements on different levels, and it is the outermost location of the interface that decide its denotation. Note, that in this architecture there is not one single white-box, but some additional white boxes around in the environment. |
