Blog 19. Capturing the restrictions of the caravan electronic expansion

We've had quite the journey so far, haven't we? Our previous blogs have covered an introduction to the Caravan, followed by an exploration of the Simplified Cpdm (Complex Product Development Model), and then a deep dive into a tailored version of that model. Now, it's time to move on to the next stage.

Today, we will focus on the initial phase of our Tailored Simplified CPDM—Pt.0.R. Explore arising restrictions caused by the development of electronic expansion. This is the stage where we identify and document the key constraints that will guide the development of the Electronic Expansion for our Caravan.

Why Is Identifying Restrictions Essential ?

  • Purpose and Benefit: Understanding the true intent behind the Electronic Expansion helps us ensure that the final product will meet the needs and expectations of caravan users.
  • Compatibility and Limitation: Assessing how the electronic expansion will either augment or impede the original caravan functionalities is crucial.
  • W Interfaces: Determining the interfaces between the original Caravan and the electronic expansion will ensure seamless integration and user experience.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves; setting too stringent constraints could result in an unfeasible or prohibitively expensive project. Conversely, overly vague restrictions won't provide the guidance needed for effective development. It's a fine line to walk.

In the restrictions list above are five foundational restrictions I've identified:

Please note that these are just preliminary ideas; we'd love your thoughts.

This is where you come in! Consider what kind of electronic features would enhance your Caravan experience. Are there any particular limitations or requirements you have in mind? Feel free to share them with us.

In our next blog, we'll move from defining these restrictions to brainstorming potential solutions that adhere to them. So, stay tuned and be part of this exciting development journey! Thank you for your continued interest, and we'll see you in the next installment!
